Six Senses Samui

I travelled with my wife for a weekend from Singapore. After some initial hiccups (the driver was - but did not seem - to be present at pick-up after our plane arrived with a delay in the evening, and there was stapling noise at our villa due to a new thatched roof being put on the neighbouring villa), we had a wonderful weekend at Six Senses. All of this got resolved quickly and efficiently with a phone call and by moving to another villa, which was perfect. Food was absolutely delicious, and we really appreciated the health focus with lots of leafy greens and the default was less sugar. The breakfast buffet felt innovative and not the usual type. I would only improve one thing - we like good coffee and it is just difficult to get that from push-button machines. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Khun Noom was our “guest experience maker,” and he was always cheerful and extremely helpful, finding us proactively across the resort whenever there was something to discuss. I noticed that staff diligently cleaned the beach of anything that got washed ashore, including a few plastic bottles, which was good to see. The care that has gone into the vegetation of the resort is phenomenal. It feels wild, but everything is perfectly maintained. The hotel is big enough, and there is enough variety that you can easily spend two or three days at the hotel without feeling the place is too small. You have a restaurant at the beach, the main restaurant on the hill, and a fine dining restaurant. The spa was a particular highlight - absolutely not to miss. Worth booking ahead as it is popular. The gym looks good, too, but we didn’t use it. There are plenty of opportunities to climb stairs across the resort (if you want to). Fellow guests were also lovely - the hotel seems to attract travellers that are looking for peace and quiet rather than party. Yes, the hotel is very close to the flight path, but it is also only 15-20 minutes from the airport. It is incredibly convenient for a short trip. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would certainly come back! Thank you to everyone for making our stay special.
