Muang Samui Spa Resort

We wanted a peaceful, relaxing hotel with traditional thai furnishings but still close enough to walk to restaurants, bars etc. ...... and we got exactly that at Muang Samui Spa and Resort. A truly beautiful hotel set in lush tropical gardens backing onto the beach on one side and the main street at the entrance. Although only about 3-5 minutes walk and you're in the thick of the busy part, when you're at the resort it is complete blissful relaxation with no street noise at all. The pool area and restaurant are beautiful. Great selection for breakfast with both Thai and western options, egg station etc, tea, coffee, juice etc. Lovely food. All the staff were so friendly, fun and helpful. We had a Deluxe Garden View room which was lovely (if you had to be picky, it could do with a bit of a refurb). Great air-con. It was a big room, great shower, clean with a gorgeous covered outside part where you can sit. Plenty of drinking water provided, and extra complimentary amenities were promptly delivered when requested. We were on the first level in the middle of the property which was perfect. (The downstairs rooms seemed a bit dark and not so private with guests walking through the gorgeous gardens). There were a few mosquitoes which was expected but there was repellant provided in the room (pink stuff which really works and doesn't stink) which was a lovely touch. There were plenty of sunbeds both around the gorgeous pool and on the beach with umbrellas and palm trees for the perfect setting! The hotel is at the quieter northern end of Chaweng Beach which was great with only a few beach vendors coming past. There is a wonderful beach massage place right next to the hotel to the left. The sea was quite shallow in that area but a short walk along the beach will get you to the deeper part for a swim if you like. There is a convenience store across the road also. We had the most relaxing, fun 9 day stay and would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anybody. We looked at a few other properties that we had been tossing up between them and Muang Samui, but we are sooo glad we chose Muang Samui.
