Our room(PP) was small and not properly ventilated nevertheless we ended up liking it.The house keeping ladies were honest and hard working and put up with all the sand we dragged in and washed our dirty linen without a fuss.Had to use both the AC and the ceiling fan to keep the temperature down.Jimmy the boss was helpful and friendly.We booked our tours through him and got fair prices.Right outside there are multiple scooter rentals and even superbikes on hire( Z900,Ducati Monster,MT07,Fireblades..priced 3000 baht for 24 hrs).Three 7-11s around and as many bars too in the compound. Bangla road is 15 minutes by foot (Som is totally guest friendly).To the right street food stalls serving fresh Thai sea food galore. Som is home to Devils Divers offering beginners course for 4000 bahts which is good value.Get friendly with Jimmy for some secret hideouts in Phuket.You get a lot for the little you pay here
