We went for a swim and it was epic, great view, great services. Change of towels and bathroom repair at the changing rooms would do 5🌟s. You can carry food , alcohol as we know is not allowed in pools

As many have said, it is a nice place but ill maintained.... However that appears to be the norm for hotels here. I have stayed in better but I have stayed in WAY worse while traveling. It is certainly not rhe American 5 star hotel but in Tanzania standards it probably is a 4.5 -4.9.

The restaurant was fine. We were well pleased.

It was ok. 

I did not choose this hotel. My flight on Ethiopian Airlines was canceled and the airline put me up for 1 night here. The room (or suite is a better term) was huge, including sitting area, storage, kitchen area, and bathroom. It was clean and with good security. However, two lights were burned out and in order to use the outlets (say, to charge your cell phone) the bell hop showed me how you have to stick something sharp and metal into one hole of the outlet while plugging your device into the other!!!! (I basically had him plug in all my adapters because I was not about to stick metal objects into the outlets myself). The internet was a good speed, but cut out about 9:30pm and didn't come back on until the next morning. There is a pool on the room (I didn't use it) and a gym on floor 13. I tried to use the tread mills, but every time I increased the speed to something over 9km/hr (which isn't very fast), the emergency stop switches would fall out because the machine vibrated so much. There are only elevators up to the 10th floor, so if you are handicapped or have lots of luggage, make sure your room is at or below floor 10. The restaurant, which featured Indian and Chinese cuisine, was terrible, but the airline covered all meals at the hotel, so I was kind of restricted. Plus, this is not a neighborhood with lots of options within walking distance. Half of the menu wasn't available, and the standard Indian dish I ordered came in the wrong color (green instead of red) and the only "spice" that was used was salt. The veggie fried rice I had for lunch used canned veggies and was very bland (except for all the salt). However, they deliver the food to your room for no extra charge (you are expected to give a small tip to the delivery person). With so many amazing Indian restaurants in Dar, I am surprised this one survives. The front desk staff were very friendly and professional. They gave me a late checkout with no extra charge, since my flight left much later in the day.

Spatious rooms, things don't work, terrible restaurant

Never listen to your boss if he recommends this.  This hotel is very convenient to the place I was visiting in Tanzania.  I literally got sick while staying at this hotel. They had no freaking heated water for taking a shower.  While the place was clean, it was ill maintained. Did I say it was dark?  Unfortunately, on the night I stayed, there was a power failure in the area where the hotel was which cut off all the power in the hotel. They had no freaking power generator! I went from sleeping well to sleeping in fear because my room was totally dark even with the curtains opened. I lived through that night with the light from my computer illuminating some parts of the room. Unless you need to be in that part of town, take a hotel in the city instead.

If you really just want a bed to sleep in and eat somewhere els I guess it will work. Don’t expect too much more and quite a distance from all the cbd and coast and if you know the traffic in Dar you know how long it takes to get anywhere
