Very nice location, with helpful people and Masai security during the night walkm
Also, had an awesome and interesting  bush walk and boat safari, get a lot of interesting info from. Gabriel who was open to answer all my questions and provide details.
Gabriel is very atent and was really helpful and I got an pleasure experience with him.

A very enjoyable two-night  safari and stay in the camp. Never forget!

Our first safari day started straight from the air field with the guide Sylvester. He was very entertaining as well as knew everything about everything, and made the best coffee for us on the coffee break. We saw all our favorite animals (but unfortunately no simba). The jeep was very comfortable, hardly any "african massage" to be had :) 

The accommodation at the camp was perfect in our own little african house, with a shower and a western style toilet and all. Nights were very warm with only a fan in the ceiling, but we survived inside the mosquito nets quite comfortably.

The restaurant was top notch (considering the location in the bush). Good basic food, and our food allergies were well taken into consideration. I got a nice birthday surprise as well (a song and a cake). 

The maasai a the camp took very good care of us, walked us through the darker path to and from our accommodation to the restaurant and evening fire pit. 

The new pool (rectangular, not the round one in most of the pictures) was nice and refreshing. 

Some power outages were experienced during our stay, but I guess it is normal.

We had a great stay at Africa Safari Selous. We had 3 days safari and it was unforgettable, also thanks to our guide Tarimo. He was a really great guide and he made the experience the best. After the 3 days we really didn’t want to leave, we wanted to stay for more safari!! But unfortunately we had to go back. We really hope to be back someday! Xx Sophie and Sander

We had a 3 night safari 14-17 July 2024.  We flew in from Zanzibar, landing on their dust runway - they are building a new proper airport but I think it will detract from this amazing experience.  Resort was lovely. Our bungalow was clean, tidy, big bed with mozzi nets, bathroom, everything you need.  Food was great, especially the meatballs - very popular!  Escorts are provided by Maasi especially at night as there are no fences so you have no idea of what visitors you might get - we were lucky enough to have Alexi (a known visiting elephant), buffalo, Bush swine, Bush babies, monkeys & pumba!
Our safari game drives were fabulous, thanks largely to our guide, Kenneth & our driver, Keifer (maybe Keefah). They were exceptional in looking after us & made sure we had the best possible experience & their knowledge, not to mention binocular eye-sight, was superb.  So good, in fact, we asked for them specifically for our 2nd full day game drive.  The Bush walk was very informative & the boat trip was ok

The rooms were beautiful and exactly like the pictures. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they made us feel so welcome from arrival to departure. If we needed anything they were there to help immediately. Extremely safe with 24 hour security.

Amazing experience.  Beautiful place with generous and welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend. Food, service, cleanliness were all the best. Nothing to note that was not the best of service. Brilliant start to exploring the beautiful country of Tanzania.

We had a 4-night stay at this place. It was amazing! Guides Steve and Frank did a great job on the bush walk and boat safari. 

In the 2-day game drive we were together with guide Mwinyi, the best guide we could wish. He did his absolute best to show us all the animals of Selous. He explanes everything perfect about the nature, combined with great driving skills.

Magical African safari experience! 

We did a 1 day tour at Selous Game Reserve. Our driver Herman was very well educated on the reserve and knew a lot about all of the animals. Thanks to him we managed to see a lot of animals especially for only one day! 

We arrived via plane around 6am and got straight into a jeep. Herman then drove us around the beautiful savannah for around 8-9 hours and provided us with lunch which we ate overlooking the hippos (and crocodiles).

We managed to see giraffes, elephants, baboons, impala, warthogs, vultures, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, zebras. We weren’t lucky enough to see the lions but Herman pointed out that they sleep around 18hrs a day and you can go weeks without seeing them. We did see and track their paw prints though! 

The whole experience is magical in itself, just being there and taking it all in is incredibly special and seeing all of the animals is a huge bonus! It’s completely wild! 

We 100% recommend this tour, it was something we’ll never ever forget! Thank you Herman for everything, you were amazing!

Everything was amazing the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is out of this world i would go back here just for food. Its a good location aswel close enough to the village if you need to go to shops and close to the park gates too.

They know how to take care of people. Happy times.

Just perfect!

Magical Safari Experience!

Africa Safari Camp gives you the full safari experience.  Don’t expect a 5-star hotel with A/C and perfect amenities.  That said, it was an excellent stay.  The safaris that were arranged by the camp were great, with a shout out to our guides Innocent and Manaynu, who took us around Selous Game Reserve for 6-7 hours on 2 different days.  We saw almost all the animals we were looking for and more. The other activities available at the Camp were a Bush Walk, a Village Tour and a Boat Safari, all lasting about 90 minutes each, and each worthwhile, just to have some different experiences.One main issue we had regarding the planning was that the company that owns the camp could not give us definitive times of our short flights to/from the camp.  Thus, after a long flight to Tanzania, we were left wondering if/when we would catch the 25-minute flight to the camp.  We found out our flight time 1 day before we arrived.Back to the Camp, I think they could do a few small things to make life in the Bush slightly more comfortable.  For example, in their small shop, the one and only snack they carry is Pringles.  It would be nice if they had at least one type of diet soda in the bar.  The screening in the units especially around the bathroom had some holes and let in bugs, which we fixed with some duct tape we happen to be carrying.  The pool was nice, but had very slippery steps and should have some of that sand-paper tape on them for safety.

Semi-rugged Safari Experience

This is a rustic and basic establishment, that provides all that you need. It is not pretentious at all, what you see is what you get.  It succeeds in creating a bush experience.  However, the greatest asset of this establishment is its people. Friendly, service and client orientated and willing to go the extra mile.
