Settlers Executive Lodge

My boyfriend and I spent three nights in this place and would have happily stayed longer. We are budget travellers and this was the first under 30 USD place that we found to be REALLY clean and confortable, both in Tanzania and Kenya. The location is away from the chaotic and touristy center (where you will be literally chased by locals trying to sell safaris) but you can easily walk there and it won't take you more than 15 min. The room had a good size and the bed was really comfortable with white clean sheets and duvet (which is hard to find in budget places), with a fan, TV and hot water in the shower. Wifi comes and goes but you get that in every place in Tanzania. The staff is friendly and helpful (the manager called our flight company to arrange a shuttle to the airport for us) and they have a little restaurant with simple but really nice and super cheap food (a plate of chicken with chips and a beer for around USD 3). Breakfast was amazing: two pieces of toast, an omelette, a sausage, a great plate of fruit, fresh juice and tea or coffee. We really recommend it if you are looking for a great place in Arusha.
