Despite not having the night market nearby, it is still a nice location to stay in. There are many eating places around. Cosy cafes can be found along the side roads. There is fresh produce cum fruit market nearby. Self-service laundromats are also within walking distance. The train station is a 15-minute walk away but don’t try to walk there with your luggage. Request for the staff to pick you up or drop you off. When we arrived, the male staff came out to welcome us and gave us a quick preview of what we could do in Hualien. He even made online booking for our train tickets from Hualien to Taipei. It was so convenient as all we just need to do was to pay and collect the tickets from the nearby convenience store. Coupon is provided for breakfast at a local fast food place across the road. This café has a varied local and western breakfast items on their menu. The boss and staff are friendly. The room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. There is a small sitting area on the 2nd level with water cooler and magazines. The only negative is that there is no lift. But the staff carry our 2 big lugguages to our room on the 3rd floor single-handedly.
