My son and I enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff was very friendly and the cat was very cute.

The Originn is a beautiful place to stay. The building is full of character and the decoration is cool without being over the top. Love that they have records and books to borrow. It is very relaxing.The staff were super friendly and informative.Didn't know before hand that the bathroom is a short outside balcony walk from the room so not ideal if you need to get up during the night.Also I assume due to the age of the property the walls are super thin and you can clearly hear other guests' conversations.Overall excellent though and we will be staying here again.Thank you

The cat OPAN is special. He makes the hotel more attractive withe the  hospetality of wonderful staffs, with coffee.

Nice hotel integrated with a coffee shop on the ground floor. Old style building to live an original experience, room had the downside of not having a window. Shared bathrooms so you need to organise yourself. Very thin walls so could hear anything from the neighbours. Friendly house cat roams around the hotel

For an authentic experience

Great spot, the area is filled with beautiful old buildings and cool bars. It close to the train station and a great night market. The place was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended staying here while in Taipei.

It's been almost a year since we stayed at Originn Space, and we're still reminiscing about it. We would absolutely stay again. Everything was perfect, from the surrounding historic neighborhood, to the calm ambience, to the delicious coffee and other thoughtful amenities, to the vintage turntable, excellent selection of records, and the friendly resident feline. The whole vibe was just homey and soothing. Our room had a very high ceiling and a private bathroom with an enormous soaking tub. This room does not have windows, so it was relatively quiet. We did hear a bit of street noise, but nothing that would keep us awake at night.

We found lots of fascinating things to see, do, and eat within walking distance. Culturally and historically significant Dihua Street is steps away from this property. We were lucky enough to be there just prior to Chinese New Year, when this street is closed off to local traffic and transforms into a massive New Year market. And as others have said, it is very near to the Beimen MRT station, with all of Taipei easily accessible from there. We were so glad we stayed at Originn Space rather than some boring chain hotel! Someday we will be back.

A true hidden gem--wish we could have stayed longer!

Located right next to the popular & traditional commercial street, the retro-style accommodation offers cozy & convenient settings. We stayed at the largest room on the 3rd floor with private bathroom. The room is really comfortable, though we need to wear ear-plagues at night  (to sleep well not to be bothered by the traffic noise from the streets). Bring your own pajamas because the private bathroom is outside of the bedroom pass the next door and open-air corridor.  (There is no bathrobes in the room so you have to walk 10 meters naked!)It is very different and therefore nice to be greeted by a cup of coffee and cafe guests when you come back in the accommodation. You may feel like you are visiting your grandparents’ house.

Nice place to stay, cozy room and helpful staff. Location is great, within 10 min walk you can reach the night market and metro station
