The Longstay Hotel

really close to ximen station and ximending! was super sceptical at first because of the reviews but it turnt out to be okay! there’s two hotels in the same building, u hotel and the longstay hotel! wifi issues: probably existent on every floor, couldn’t connect sometimes or it’ll come on and off but when it connects, it’s good reception: staff is extremely helpful and recommended us some nice places! always ready to help and courteous :) rooms: got one on the 5th and 7th floor, 5th floor was okay, room was pretty small, 7th floor had a cigarette smell where the staff kindly switched us to the room beside our other room on the 5th floor. got both hello kitty rooms then the next day, we had to switch one room to the 6th floor due to separate bookings. room on the 6th floor was quite nice! rooms were quite clean and beds comfortable! things to note: the hotel is pretty old and u can tell by the carpet as well. there is mold/dirt on the walls, bathroom walls, bathroom floors. the carpet doesn’t seem super clean to me and has a dirty feeling. hotel is okay, i just hope they can refurbish the hotel to make it fresher and cleaner! rooms aren’t soundproof, ring a doorbell, could even hear from the outside! hotel isn’t too rowdy and is quiet. sometimes, have cigarette smell on the 5th floor’s hallways. no concierge, reception on level 6, have to walk up a few steps to the lift. lift is quite old cos sometimes it closes rlly fast even though there’s someone coming in. wanted to get rooms on the 9th floor due to good reviews about that level but couldn’t get. maybe they’re newer? who knows. amenities ok. bathtub pretty filthy but shower ok. location is 10/10, close to ximen, have walked to ximending many times and there’s really good eateries nearby. 7 eleven, family mart and cosmed are pretty close too! mrt station, ximen is also a stop away from taipei main station so it’s really convenient. many places nearby to shop and eat! may seem dodgy because of dark lighting for the floors but i guess it’s ok? hope they add more lights or change them. honestly if you’re thinking of staying here, it’ll be for convenience and location but don’t expect too much. decent enough to have a good rest and place to stay for your vacation. if you’re willing to splurge more for your hotel to get more comfortable rooms in better conditions, maybe check out the pricier hotels? but this is decent for its price! the best part of this hotel would be the staff and location. plenty of good food nearby too!!
