Travelhome Service Apartment

Stayed here three nights while attending a convention at a nearby fancy hotel. Highly recommend it. Cost me less for three nights than the fancy hotel wanted per night, and I was happier here. Basically, my double room was an efficiency in a large apartment building, but it was spotlessly clean, with simple but totally adequate furniture including a large desk and small couch, a small balcony and a very pleasant view down to the waterfront. The bed (queen size) is classic Chinese—that is, hard, but you get used to that if you spend any time in China. Most important, the AC worked great since it was miserably humid during my June visit. Wifi also good. There is a convenience store right in the building selling ice cold beer, fruit, microwave meals, etc.. and a Starbucks across the street. Check-in is a bit of a surprise since it’s actually a little office down the side of the building with only Chinese signage, but I got through the process just fine. The actual entrance is also down the side, not on the main street. Only about a block from the metro (Sanduo station) which takes you directly to the Taiwan High Speed Rail station (Zuoying) or the airport. The owner, Mr. Lee, was very attentive and exceptionally prompt at answering e-mails.
