Hotel Zermama Zermatt

I really enjoyed my stay at Zermama. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. I was travelling solo on a spur of the moment ski trip and did not once experience anyone who found that strange. They were all super accommodating and put up with me petting Ronnie, the dog, constantly. As far as I'm concerned, Ronnie should be the concierge. He made me feel instantly welcome, as did all the people working there, The temps were super warm, so I could easily find a spot on the outdoor terrasse after a day of skiing. It is perfectly located to the Sunnega funicular, which provides great access to the slopes and from there you can traverse the mountain and even get over to Cervinia. If you want a more direct route to the Italian side, there is a shuttle stop just at the corner that will take you across the village to the Furi lift. Everything is very easy. The rooms themselves are great. A bit tight if you want to take advantage of the provided in-room yoga mat and exercise gear, but they've gone out of their way to give the rooms a real ski chalet feeling to them. I would highly recommend staying here, and not just because of Ronnie. Although, come on. It's Ronnie.
