SwissHut B&B

Our family of 11 ( ages 9-75yrs) stayed at Swisshut for 5 days in April 2019. We found the location and weather just perfect. The chalet was clean, well furnished, warm and cosy. There are 86 steps from top of road to accomodation. As a large family we were given the choice to either have breakfast provided or be able to use the kitchen to store, prepare and make our meals (same price for both options. You are not allowed food in Swisshut if breakfast option is chosen). The location is quite isolated so having use of the kitchen was necessary as restaurants charge a premium. We used bus 24 for our trips into town, if you miss this bus it is a decent walk up a steep hill. We used ‘get transfer.com’ to organise a return trip from Zurich airport to Swisshut. We purchased food at Zurich airport coop and Sigriswil coop. You can go online and have it delivered to the hut. We visited Niederhorn, Jungfraujoch, Lauterbrunnen, Thun, Interlaken and enjoyed ferry rides over lake Thun. We purchased a Bernese Oberland Regional Swiss Rail card which covered: ferry, bus, cable and rail in the areas we wanted to travel. We would recommend this picturesque location to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in a non touristy destination of Switzerland.
