8 reviewsWe were looking for an average family hotel somewhere in the valley towards Zermatt/Mt. Matterhorn.... Confirming the details by phone, the owners was very friendly. Also, the pictures looked great on their web site - and it actually really is! You definitely need a car though to drive up to the little pond. And it`s worth it. Initially I was a bit disappointed about the "old" rooms but they were very clean and spacious. My wife and kids loved it from the beginning. As we ate dinner somewhere else I did not really try their menue. But we joined the "the crowd" on the beautiful terrace for a desert. The german waitress was super friendly and attentive. So were the owner couple which were greeting all their guests and even stayed for a little small talk. While the sun was setting I quickly checked the emails, drank a tasty double espresso and finished up the desert. My wife in the mean time got the kids ready for bed - what a lovely day:-) The breakfast next morning was good and tasty. (I did not ask for a cooked one - continental did it) What was, again, a very nice surprise was the owner who looked after us in a very friendly way... We will definitely consider the hotel agin when traveling to the area.
