A historic hotel, which was also the reason for our visit. Gilberte is ubiquitous in the de la Gare! The hotel has a nice terrace outside, but the dining room was less comfortable because we had to fight with the flies during the whole meal. But the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was really good. The breakfast, which cost extra, was disappointing, however, especially all the peaches offered were lazy in the shell. When these were put back by the guests. The staff simply put the lazy fruits back in the shell... Fault for us: for one night OK, but no longer.

Historical, but no more

Beautiful, quiet and clean hotel rooms, the perfect solution to not having to drive after a fine dinner at the restaurant of the house, very friendly staff, excellent cuisine and rich breakfast, good price-performance. We'll be back!

It's worth a trip again!

Simple, clean and very friendly rooms. The dining at the hotel's own restaurant is rather expensive, but also above-average. The service is very friendly and helpful. Overall, highly recommended.

Satisfied all around

While visiting a client, my colleague and I took advantage of the terrace to exchange during the meal. The menu for the day's meal was flat and dessert. It felt like it was homemade. We had the time. I think it's necessary to have it. The terrace is very nice, the service very friendly. A nice lunch! The loyalty card makes the price of the menu really cheap. Top!

Whether for the Apéro, a coffee or a beer or a good meal, la petite Gilberte is a magical place that belongs to the history and culture of Switzerland like Wilhelm Tell. Beautifully renovated rooms, sunny terrace where children can also play on the playground. Friendly service and a cartridge that comes from the area, what you can get more.

The family has Courgenay for Saint Martin's for dinner and sleeping there. Simple but very clean rooms. Full menu for 71 francs. Very well worked and gutted. Very nice service. Music a little too loud. Nice lunch we asked for salt and we were very satisfied. A mention for the kindness of the staff that contrasts with the coldness of the owner.

Suoerbe night

Once again, we liked the food and the ambiance of this hidden Gem. The friendly staff was attentive and discreet.
We also met the owners. A couple who saved the place from bankruptcy and kept it as a Landmark.
Situated in the NW part of Switzerland, this place tells a story of the military life near the border to France in Switzerland during WW1.
A welcome relief from the monotonous daily routine of the soldiers was the visit of this restaurant where the owners daughter used to serve drinks and food. Soon she became famous among the troops and one fine day one of the soldiers composed a song honoring her charming nature.
It is a place full of history in a splendid vicinity.

A place to remember

The Petite Gilberte, known throughout Switzerland (at least by older generations) for its attention to the soldiers stationed in Courgenay near the French border during the Great War, is ubiquitous in the establishment whose owners and staff are very welcoming and caring. I loved my retro room (called the Petite Gilberte) which puts you in the atmosphere of the time, but which has all the comforts currently required. Although facing the train station, the room, very large, was nevertheless particularly quiet. Traditional with regional cuisine. I recommend the excellent Restaurant Doubt.

The hotel, where Gilberte von Gorugenay supported the soldiers during World War I, sleeps quietly and deeply, simple, clean rooms with old, charming furniture.

A simple hotel with a great history

This is an absolutely charming hotel, over 100 years old and very carefully updated and restored. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Good parking, wifi and breakfast. You also get a friendly welcome and great service.
