Situated in a small hamlet, with no traffic. Lovely old building, beautifully renovated. It was very busy during the day at weekends and public holidays. The owner,was amazing and his attention to detail, exceptional. 

When you arrive in Barme by car, motocycle or by foot coming from Champéry via La Braye, it's always a good idea and the right time to stop at the Cantine des Dents Blanches for a drink !
You're right if you intend to eat there (on the terrace or inside in the evening), no problem, Véronique knows what's hospitality means and you'll enjoy some Swiss specialities (wine and meals).

We hiked down to Barme from the Col de Cou and were delighted to find a tranquil oasis at the Cantine des Dents Blanches, set in a small hamlet with towering mountains above, a stream nearby, and looking out at gently wooded slopes across the valley.

We ordered salads (Cesar and Goat's cheese) and they were large and delicious, with fresh, local ingredients, served by friendly staff who spoke English (when our french failed). We ate outside the old wooden building, under a parasol, and fille dour water bottles at the spring fed trough in the garden. There's a trampoline for the kids and a lot of space for them to run around in. We were happy for a rest before we continued our hike down the valley to Champery and the gondola back to our apartment in Les Crosets.

I would recommend to make a reservation at weekends, and even in weekdays through the summer, as the restaurant has a perfect setting.

Nice place to stop on the Tour des Dents Blanches. Good evening meal. Sunny garden late afternoon. We chose it as it has a shower and was about the right place to stop having left from Les Allemands above Samoëns. Similar length if more challenging walk to Vogealle the following day.

Wonderful location and extremely friendly and caring owners. Rooms are very well prepared and private. Only concern was a single inside toilet and sink, with another 2 outside. The single shower was great, very nice touch to have a heater inside. Food was great in the restaurant with a nice selection in case you did not care for meat or cheese.
