Today on the way to Rigi Kulm we made our lunch stop here the slice was perfect the salad for the fitness plate was crisp and fresh of course we would like to thank you very much for the friendly service and for a month the place was very well visited

Thank you for the hospitality and the fine food.

When the staff was very unfriendly and abusive and told me that I was (by mistake) going to the wrong exit (sorry, I couldn't guess), I should have listened to my feelings and left. No, I waited almost an hour (ordered at 1:20 p.m.) for the meal, and the meal (wheat soup and salad with sausage) was not even good. Never go back.

Don't go there anymore.

23 senior tourists wandered from the Rigi-Scheidegg, with a little foul snow, towards the Hotel Rigi-First. In the authentic bear room, the bear crew was waiting for us, we had informed them in advance about our culinary wishes. The Aelpler magrons with bacon, Rigi alp cheese, roasted onions and apple juice tasted great for us hikers. It was also clear that after this physical performance we also enjoyed a dessert. The meringue with stems were well received by all of us. There was also praise for the various high-percentage coffees. The employees all had a good meal. While our lunch was showing, the elderly people suddenly felt that it was time to celebrate the birthday of our Lady, because there was still a great day to celebrate.

For us older gentlemen, it was fine.

The weather forecast was great for the weekend. So we decided to take a snow walk. After a walk we wanted to strengthen ourselves at noon and support the Swiss gastronomy. With good luck and friends, we got a nice place in the sun on the beautiful terrace. Our table neighbors were friendly and welcoming. After we studied the lunch card and finally got the opportunity to go to our table, we ordered our special dinner with a very good friend. Then the next thing I know, after ordering, we were told that there was only cake and salad. It was just one meal in the kitchen.

Unkindness

On a beautiful Saturday in winter with a bright blue sky, we returned to the bear room for lunch. We waited 25 minutes until we could order. On the terrace, about 10 tables were occupied, so we went inside. Before we could order, the 70-year-old host came in cursing and complained loudly to all the guests inside the restaurant that someone outside wanted to pay with a card and that he would have to pick up the machine. We waited 25 minutes until we could order. At 12.15 the host shared that there was only soup, potatoes and ice cream salad left. At 12.45 the host had to get everything on the cards again. The host explained to the host that the question was that he would never have to come back to the table again, and that he would have to come back to the table again.

Very unfriendly host!

We had an excellent lunch at Hotel Rigi First at surprisingly moderate prices.  The hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to swap from the fondue lunch that had been booked to instead choose from the menu.  The menu had a good range that accommodated my family’s wide/ranging preferences.  The food was high quality and of a good size.  We had to wait a while for the food but not unreasonably long.  Very pleased with the food and service.  

Excellent lunch

After a 45-minute walk from Rigi-Kulm, we returned to the bear's room for lunch on this beautiful August weekday. We were hungry and looking forward to a ground-based meal. But there was a lack: besides the other guests, we were told that the kitchen had already been closed due to staff shortages; no new food orders would be accepted. Drinks are no longer ordered. You have to let this be dissolved on your tongue: a more uncluttered, sunny and hot day  like the days before  also said in the weather forecasts. The two railway stations are also said to have been closed due to staff shortages. And what would you do later in the day?

Restaurant Bear Room: Kitchen closed at 1 p.m.

We went to the restaurant with relatives from Northern Ireland. What was offered for lunch was no advertisement. The roast sausage and the rig sausage were 0815! The potatoes slept! The price was not without self-service!

Weak food

When hiking on the Rigi on the weekend we stumbled upon this restaurant (that is also a hotel) and we decided to stop here for lunch. My husband and I really enjoyed the Gerstensuppe - it was delicious. The kids were not adventurous and stuck to the typical sausage and chips.

The setting is very authentic and Swiss and the staff all extremely friendly even when the restaurant was busy.

Great place for Swiss cuisine

We stayed in this guest house at the end of August 2016. It is quite easy to get to - on the RigiBahnen train from Arth-Goldau (where you can get from Zurich in 40 minutes by train) to the Rigi Wolfertschen-First stop, from there 10 minutes on foot on the gravel road to the hotel itself. We were satisfied with choosing this very guest house - it is located a little further away from other hotels, and it is what ultimately appealed to us most - around the hotel, literally a few miles away from the gorgeous and stunningly picturesque countryside.
