WH Beach Resort

On our second visit to Weligama we tried to get somewhere closer to the centre of the cove and town, WH Beach Resort was an ideal find. Such a prime location, you couldn’t get more central if you tried. The hotel is very close to the main town square, bus station and beach all within a couple of minutes walk. There is also two supermarkets close by and lots of other shops and restaurants. The hotel consists of many really comfortable and spacious rooms, we were in a twin which had two lovely 4 poster single beds which were honestly more like doubles given the size. The room had a big ensuite bathroom very clean with modern fittings throughout. The room also had top notch air conditioning which was a real joy and made for a very comfortable nights sleep. The hotel has a bar and restaurant on the lower level and guest also have use of the kitchen upstairs which we were able to cook and prepare our own meals in, being backpackers this was a great way to save some money. There are two Huge social area downstairs (technically the restaurant) and a large balcony at the front. They also have pretty decent free wifi which you can access in your room and on the balcony. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, helping us out with onward bus travel and allowing us to use the kitchen equipment downstairs and take drinks up to the room. The price for the two rooms which our group paid for 2 nights was very reasonable from what I remember especially for what you actually get with regards to the standards. If your after a nice central location, self catering accommodation, low cost but not compromising on quality by any means then check out WH Beach Resort you wont be disappointed.
