53 reviewsI stayed here for a week. paged $4 for my own room and bathroom! No, it's not a 5 star hotel, but it's clean and smells normal (minus moth balls, but glad for less bugs), and the service was excellent! This is a family run hostel, very close to Jungle Beach in Welligama, about a 20 minute walk to the main surf beach. It's nice because it off the main drag, therefore quiet and peaceful, in a sweet neighborhood filled with wild peacocks!! rent a bicycle for 200 LKR per day, easy to get around. several restaurants and small shops within walking distance. The hosts are the sweetest and happy to accommodate most needs. The mom cooks up a delicious omelet or pancakes for breakfast for a very cheap price. She also makes a yummy rice and curry dish with prawns!! The internet is not the best, but that is my only complaint. It's better on the rooftop, which is pleasant to hang out on while making a phone call, looking at the sea, while listening to and watching peacocks parade around.
