26 reviewsMy first trip to the South of Sri Lanka... I came across this boutique hotel as a recommendation of a guest I met at a Hotel in Kandy. The hotel was more than pleasant, friendly and accomadating. The staff were friendly and bought a lively atmosphere to the place. Rooms were clean and to a European standard. Namesh the manager could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. He was on hand at all hours of the day and evening. The jewel in the crown is the attached restaurant and Irish bar. I had planned to stay 5 nights and taste the local cuisine at various places. I however ended up dining here every night and enjoying the local arrack every night. I tasted the Sri Lankan rolls and gave it top marks. The grilled whole fish was perfectly done. Trevor the hotel chef was welcoming and always made suggestions for my next meal, evening explaining his complex recipes and intricacies of Asian spices. I spent most evenings at the bar, talking to guests, exchanging travel tips of the Island, places to visit and explore...It was comforting. My top tip: Dine under the stars... I would be back again.
