I highly recommend this place for solo travelers or travel girls looking for a safe and quiet stay in Sigiriya. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, providing guidance for our travel plans and even helping us find shared rides to different destinations. The hospitality was exceptional, making the stay both convenient and enjoyable. If you're looking for a peaceful and well-managed place to stay, this is definitely a great choice! 😊

Our hosts went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Restaurants are nearby. It is within walking distance of the rock but our host offered us a lift! Good breakfast included. The accomodation is located at the back of the property so it is away from roadside noise

I wouldn't hesitate staying at Sigiri Rainbow lodge again.

We were supposed to stay in another guesthouse, but it was full. So, the owner recommended another guesthouse Sigiriya Rainbow Lodge.

Surath, the owner of the guesthouse warmly welcomed us and showed us the available rooms. The room was simple and comfortable with excellent A/C. Outside the room was a large terrace where we ate a lovely and large breakfast every day.

We stayed for four nights at Rainbow Lodge and we did not want to leave. Surath could not do enough for us and made us feel part of his lovely family.

Extras: buying us beers to enjoy on the terrace, taking me on his bike to drop off my laundry, dropping us off at the bus station. 

It was a wonderful experience and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Nice accomdation in a good area. Close by some fantastic family restaurants. Very helpful people as well. I got in contact with them when I missed the train stop and ended up at a random train stop 50km away from the accommodation, they gave me some good advice and picked me up from a closer station once I got a train back the correct way.

Very clean homestay with friendly host and perfect location in walking distance to Sigiriya. Great local breakfast and superb. local restaurants nearby. Great value for money. Would definitely stay again

Stayed for only one night, but would definately recommend. Good location and nice airy rooms. The couple that has the place is so friendly and helpful in any way possible. Helped with tour information, general information about Sigirya and transport they also arranged.

We had a great stay! The room was comfy and clean. It is a bit older tho, but for the price absolutely great. The garden is super pretty and you can spot birds and monkeys. The family is so sweet, definitely check out their breakfast! 

Very good place for good price. Clean rooms.
Owner is very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 10 pm, but it was not a problem to checked-in (of course, we spoke with owner before).
Breakfast was very tasty.
Highly recommended!

5 stars - BEST guesthouse in Sri Lanka

Great place to stay

Very clean, comfortable accommodation located close to the small Sigiriya town and Lion Rock. The family who run the Rainbow lodge are kind, accomodating and very helpful. They arranged a safari for us and provided delicious breakfasts at our required time (some of the best breakfasts we’ve had during our 3 week stay!). Would definitely recommend; both for value for money, and for an excellent place to stay during Sigiriya.

Lovely accommodation

I was recommended this place by friends and they were absolutely right at that!
A very clean, comfortable and spacious room with a very large bathroom for an affordable price point. 

The host and his family were one of the most friendly and caring people you can come across to in this world... 
They checked very genuinely if everything was according to your wishes and were very helpful with any question you had. 

Breakfast was served on the balcony in front of your room while looking out at the beautifully maintained garden. It was very tasty and plentyfull. 
Also the restaurant next door had a great rice & curry which was cheap as well... 

It was also not far away from lion's rock and the way cheaper absolutely must-do:Pidurangala rock. 
One of the most stunning views ever. 

When leaving their son gave some good advice for the rest of my journey on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. 

I can't praise the Rainbow Lodge highly enough and my only regret is I didn't stay any longer...

Great family-owned homestay

My friend and I stayed here for two nights and felt right at home instantly! The room was clean, bathroom was massive and the service was amazing. When we checked in, refreshments were bought to the table outside our room, and the owner organised what time we would like to have breakfast each morning. They were very helpful in assisting us with organising transport; catching the right buses, organising tuk tuk pick up, etc. The breakfast cooked for was was generous and delicious. We would highly recommend staying here! It’s also conveniently close to Sigiriya and Pidurangala

Excellent accomodation!!

It's got all you'd expect, some WiFi, clean rooms, hot showers, a welcoming family and a convenient breakfast. Triple rooms have air con, our upstairs room had a fan... A cool one though with a remote! The mosquito net was much appreciated and for some reason the bathrooms are huge! Still, plenty of space to splash about! The rooms were beautiful - exposed roof beams made for high ceilings & the general feel was verdant and serene. Located close to the Lion Rock, with an atm and laundry services and a wood carving factory nearby made for a very relaxed stay. Thank you! 

Great little family run place! 

We stayed for 4 nights and were very happy with the place. The owners are amazing. We were taken care of perfectly. The owner helped us get the right buses, arranged the breakfast for the times we needed and gave us really good advice about when to go where. His tips were more than helpful. We definitely recommend rainbow lodge and we would definitely stay here again! Oh, the breakfast was delicious and the room was spacious and clean.
