Sachal Mir Bed and Breakfast

I stayed here for 2 weeks during a volunteering trip. I was in a shared room. The rooms are basically furnished, but perfectly adequate for our purpose. Muzzy nets are provided which was fab. It was very hot and humid even at night time. Often, the ceiling fan did little more than move the hot air around, but then again, this is the climate in Sri Lanka and is part of the experience. Our hosts were absolutely lovely. Warm, welcoming, helpful, accommodating. Fluent in English, it was great to have chats with them and find out more about the prawn ponds on site, the local area and life in Sri Lanka in general. We had early starts (at times having breakfast at 5am!) and yet our lovely hosts were up before us, had breakfast ready for us (fresh fruit, fresh toast, omelette made to order) and welcomed us warmly each day. We often had dinner here as well and it was authentically cooked food which was flavoursome and plentiful Really enjoyed our stay here and felt very comfortable here.
