Grand Traverse

We only used the room to have a shower & relax before our overnight flight but the property is so nice & the owners super friendly, that we wish we had stayed longer. The place is funkily decorated & the nice veranda is great for chilling out. Sasha Food Court is a 4 minute walk away - definitely better to eat there rather than at the rip-off airport restaurants. Negombo Beach is reasonably close too. The owner, Rasika, offers an airport transfer for a reasonable price & he’s a careful driver (about a 15 minute drive). If you are arriving at Colombo airport (Bandaranaike) in the evening, then this is also a good option to stay if you don’t want to travel all the way into Colombo. If you are okay using local trains, then Kurana Railway Station is only a 6 minute walk away, so you can easily get the train into Colombo Fort Station, to explore Colombo or get another train to destinations like Kandy or Galle. Or you could use the train to get here if you’re coming from the Colombo or further south. To find the property: From Negombo Road it’s not far (maybe 30-40 metres) on the right hand side. There is no large sign on the property but as you go up the road (Samagi Mw) look for concrete fence posts (holding the gate) and there is a small sign. We hope to come back some time & have more time to speak with the owners & chill in the surroundings. Recommended!
