DCanal House

D Canal was the highlight of our hotel stays in Sri Lanka. The decoration at the hotel was beautiful and unique. The chef made his own Mango, papaya and lime jam which was to die for. It was definitely the tastiest breakfast we had during our trip. The pool was very relaxing and the staff couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. There is a free tuk, tuk to and from the property from 10am to 7pm which was very generous. I wish we had stayed longer and will definitely be returning.

This was one of our best stays in Sri Lanka. Not only the property was immaculate, but also secluded meaning it was peaceful and private. The books we had was very nice and incredible value for money! Service was well beyond expectations. We were really blown away by the friendliness everyone showed us. I would go back in an eyeblink!Thank you so much to everyone. Ps. The homemade mango marmalade is delicious!

Everything about this little boutique hotel was perfect. Only a small number of rooms, but with plenty of friendly staff for everything you need. Quiet & serene, a home away from home - but only 5 mins a (free) tuktuk to get to the town & beach.

Beautiful property, very well decorated and surrounded by nature. It is a little far from main road in Mirissa but honestly that was a plus, they offer a free tuk tuk to/from main road and I much prefer the quietness and secluded area where the DCanal is located. Very good breakfast, super friendly staff and a very authentic experience. Loved everything about it!

Really beautiful haven in Mirissa, sitting right on the river and with a lovely pool. Sitting on the balcony, we saw monkeys, lizards, bats and a woodpecker.The furniture was all beautiful and they'd thought of everything, it was very comfortable and the AC was very powerful.The manager couldn't do enough to help, giving fantastic food recommendations, arranging free tuk tuks to get to town and welcoming us to use the pool after we'd checked out

The staff is Super nice, very helpful and quick to respond (usually could contact them over WhatsApp and got answers within minutes).The tuktuk service to the main road is a very nice thing to have, tho' we usually walked, wich wasn't that bad either.The rooms were big and nice, the pool area was also very nice. Would stay again if I were in Mirissa.

Everything was perfect. Very warm and welcoming staff. Very homelike nature. We will be returning again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable and the staff were so attentive. The free TukTuk service to the main junction was a really nice touch.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff are so friendly and could not be more helpful if they tried.For a calm and peaceful stay, I’d strongly recommend this place.

We had a good time at DCanal. The property is nicely decorated, is very clean and has a lovely pool and garden. To say the staff were great would be an understatement. They were very friendly and always checking if we needed anything. The buffet breakfast was lovely and freshly prepared every morning. My only critique of this property is it is a 15min walk to the town & beach but they do provide a free tuk tuk service from 10am to 7 pm. The beach bar pictures shown here are not on this property.  Aside from breakfast there is no meals available at the property or around the property so you need to go to the town.There are only three rooms and three bungalows on the property so it is very relaxing and peaceful compared to the busy town centre.  The property was surrounded by beautiful lush trees where you can watch lots monkeys and birds. Also a canal that runs along the property has water lizards, fish and birds you can watch as you enjoy breakfast.

D Canal house is a lovely place to stay. They are offering free tuc tuc from 8AM-7PM which is needed since it is 20 minutes walk from the beach. The team around D Canal house is stunning! Milan and the rest of team are doing everything making sure you are having a great time. Love from Kris and Astrid

D Canal House - Lovely place!

My girlfriend and I stayed at D Canal House for almost a week, and we are very satisfied. The hotel is secluded from the main street but offered free TukTuk to and from which was incredibly helpful. The place was quiet and peaceful in the evenings and nights. The hotel had a relaxing environment with lots of vegetation which the staff looked after well. All staff were extremely helpful. They helped with everything from transport bookings to excursions and even arranging packed breakfast if needed. Their knowledge of the area was extensive and they recommended local restaurants and places worth visiting. They were available for any questions. The rooms were nice and had all the amenities you needed. The breakfast was good and prepared from scratch. Everything felt genuine and they always wanted our best. We are very satisfied with our stay and the genuine experience. We would love to return to D Canal House!

Lovely hotel in Mirissa

Excellent hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. I spent two nights here and everything about the hotel was great. The room was clean and spacious with a large balcony. The breakfast was excellent and the swimming pool is lovely. The hotel is set in a mini oasis with plants and trees everywhere which are lit up a night. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the main road however the hotel provide a free Tuk tuk service to the main road until 7pm. I never felt unsafe walking back to the hotel at night and all the locals are very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel and would like to say a big thank you to Pria and the rest of the staff who made me feel very welcome during my stay and also organised an early morning canal tour along the canal which backs onto the hotel where I saw a variety of birds as well as water monitors.

We stayed for five wonderful nights at D Canal House and had the feeling of living in the middle of the jungle. Every day, we relaxed in the nice and cozy pool area of the hotel while spotting exotic birds and other animals. The breakfast was really good, and the staff (Milan and Briaya) were absolutely fantastic. Their way of being contributed to making the overall experience absolutely perfect.In the evening, we could safely walk through the local area to Mirissa (15 minutes) to have dinner, but the hotel also offers free tuk-tuk service to the main road in Mirissa between 10 AM and 7 PM.We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in peaceful and jungle-like surroundings, yet still within walking distance to the city life and the beach in Mirissa.
