Taj Samudra

John and I have always stayed at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo for the past 3 decades. We are amazed and delighted to see that the same level of care, hospitality and service that Taj Samudra gave us 30 years ago, still continues with sincere attention to our needs. The large pretty blue Pool surrounded by nature and Araliya trees with pretty blooms and tall tropical trees with birds chirping is resort-like and beautiful. I wish I had used the pool more. The Steam room and the fitness changing rooms are clean, comfortable and on the luxury scale. Tennis courts need to be improved. The very large sprawling lawn is very unique to Taj Samudra and a treat for the guests to take a walk. The Strategic location close to the Colombo City, in front of Galle Face Green and Indian Ocean makes Taj Samudra, an unbeatable choice for the those who want a short, long, leisure or business stay. Mr. Maini, General Manager and Mr. Chaminda Dehiwatte, Front Office Manager, took personal interest and gave prompt attention when we needed their assistance. Mr. Shiraz Rajaratnam, at the Courtesy desk gave us fantastic vehicle arrangements for long trips in Sri Lanka with very good vehicles and polite safe drivers. Mr. Shiraz was keeping in touch with us during our trip, even when he was off duty, to make sure our trip went well. John and I had personal wonderful physical training advice on specific exercises we had to work on at the Gym. Rosa, Trainer at the Gym was wonderful. The exercises he showed gave us immediate relief to our aches and pains. Joseph at the Gym was also very good and showed me some good stretches. They both helped us video record certain " at home" exercises we could do at home when we returned. We felt the "Taj Charm " in every stay. Thank you. Priya and John King, Bangkok, Thailand
