Halgolla Plantation Home was the last stop on our two week visit to Sri Lanka and what a great wrap up. Emil and Arlene are warm and amazing hosts and made us feel right at home. From the minute we landed in Sri Lanka they checked in on us and made sure we were doing okay. Our breakfasts and dinners were delicious and the room we had - Nellie’s suite, was spacious. We also got a tour of the beautiful property plus home and were able to see what a working vanilla bean and spice plantation looks like. Emil was also kind and patient to answer my many questions about Sri Lanka in general before we arrived - this helped me organize my trip. The driver he recommended to us was great and ended up being with us for our entire trip. The property is 30 minutes outside of Kandy and basically up on the mountain. This worked for us in terms of having much needed peace and quiet.
