Kirinda Walauwa

Wow, what an experience!! Lalith and all his staff (and pets including Kennedy the dachshund) were so welcoming and we had such an amazing couple of days relaxing in the beautiful surroundings and eating the most wonderful food (maybe too much food!)! From the moment we arrived we felt like we were at home with cups of tea and really authentic accommodation. Lalith is a really interesting host with lots of stories and knowledge. We felt surrounded by nature the whole time which was further highlighted by our morning walk of the village and our evenings relaxing on the veranda. The cooking lesson was a great experience from the tuktuk to the market, to the coring of the coconut and the cooking on the open flame, The food was one of the best meals we ate in Sri Lanka (and the bar is very high!)- our children (aged 11 and 13) particularly loved the food! When we said goodbye there were hugs and we felt like we had stayed much longer than two nights! A real highlight of our trip!
