Samaro Resort

Samaro resort is a new little guest house with three rooms. A family run business, although the family live in town so the house is looked after by housekeeper Leylani. She is very sweet and speaks English fairly well. The house is on the fringe of town, just beyond the 'exit Mirissa' sign meaning it's very nice and quiet. A tuk tuk to the main beach and restaurants is only LKR200 (£1) My partner and I stayed in a fan only (non A/C) room. The rate was very reasonable. We were offered a choice of rooms on arrival as we were the only guests. The rooms were very clean and tidy, simply furnished, equipped with towels and mosquito nets. Water always on and reliable fast internet. Our only regret was not choosing the A/C room as the low ceilings meant our room was incredibly hot at night. We were delighted that the whole family came over to meet us in the evening. Gunasiri, his wife, father and two children. We enjoyed talking with them especially Gunasiri's daughter who speaks exceptionally good English. Breakfast was SriLankan style fish curry and coconut Roti (flat breads) which was delicious. Also fruit, tea & coffee. We liked that it was not western for a change. All in all a very SriLankan welcoming feeling awaits you at Samaro house. If a little hot at night.
