Western Park Guest House

There are two Kais guest houses. One is "Kais Guest House" and the other is "Kais City Guest House." And I stayed at Kais City Guest House which is very close from the Jaffna Clock Tower, the city center. Fort, market, library, station and every attractions of Jaffna town is in the walking distance. Kais City Guest House cannot offer meals unfortunately but the guesthouse owners kindly recommended several restaurants nearby. They have a fridge and kitchen the guests can use, so you do not have any troubles to prepare your own tea/coffee, cool your drinks, and bring your own foods from the town area. On the contrary, Kais Guest House which is located suburban area provides great Jaffna cuisine it seems. I would like to try it next time. Mr. Prava, one of the guesthouse owner, has a great knowledge on the Jaffna historical sites. He kindly arranged a one day tour around Jaffna and a half day tour to Nagadeepa/Nainative. If you would like to complete most of the attractions, you may need at least three days in Jaffna (And I missed to visit Delft Island...). You will learn a lot of culture, history, and nature of Jaffna if you travel around with Jaffna locals like Mr. Prave or Mr. Ajith, the guesthouse owners. 「カイスシティーゲストハウス」と「カイスゲストハウス」の2つのカイスがあります。今回はカイスゲストハウスのほうがリノベーション中とのことでシティーゲストの方にとまりました。カイスゲストハウスはお料理が自慢のようですが、シティーゲストのほうはお料理の提供はありません。それでも街の中心地に位置しているので、周りにレストラン等も多く不便はありません。持ち込んだものもシティーゲストで食べれる他、キッチンや冷蔵庫などもあるのでとても便利。駅や、フォート、マーケット、ジャフナ図書館、ナルアー寺院などもすぐ近くです。ジャフナ出身のオーナー2人はスリランカで活動する日本のNGOに勤務されていたこともあり英語もでき宿泊に不便ありません。英語ができるトゥクトゥクドライバーなども手配してくださる他、近隣エリアへのガイドツアーなども手配してくださいます。ジャフナの見所を全て抑えるには、最低3日は必要です（デルフトアイランド1日、ジャフナ市内とナーガディーパ1日、ポイントペドロやキーリマライなどのジャフナ郊外）。
