Very friendly hosts and excellent location a very short walk from the beach.

Our room was clean with air con and nice big bed. 

We received a smoothie when we arrived and snacks before our departure.

We had laundry done which was good.

I would recommend to friends and family.

Excellent family run place with nice garden view from a terrace where meals and drinks are served. Family is very kind, helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and big enough with private bathroom. Landlady can prepare delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. She is a really excellent cook. I absolutely recommend this place to stay.

Throughout our 6 week trip in Sri Lanka we stayed at many guest houses but Mali's was our favourite.  She was so helpful, kind, friendly and very relaxed - we felt truly at home with her and her family.  Her cooking was also the best we experienced throughout our stays in numerous guesthouses - ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and very reasonable.  

The property was in an ideal location, set slightly back from the railway line and only a 3 minute walk to the beach and even less to the shops.  The accommodation was clean, comfy and had a brilliant vibe to it, especially when chilling in the garden or on the terrace.  There are only 4 large guestrooms in the house so it never got too busy but at the same time, it wasn't too quiet.

We ended up spending the final 16 days of our trip with Mali and I would definitely be giving her a call if we go back!

We spent 3 days here over Christmas and enjoyed it so much we decided to come back. 

Mali runs this place and she is so friendly and accommodating. She runs it from her house and makes you feel at home. Her breakfasts are fantastic. You have the option of English or Sri Lankan breakfast. She goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. She even washed and ironed out clothes for only 400 rupee!

It is behind the railway line but with an easy access path to the beach, so it is quiet at night. The rooms are simple but clean.

Mali Guest House - Lovely!

Mali is great-really enjoyed our stay here! 

Me and my girlfriend used to go surfing every morning and afternoon for around 2 hours. We always kept our money well hidden in the room and we never touched it or moved it during our stay. We were the only guests at the hotel.
Sadly someone entered our room and took us 1600 dollars. The money was well counted and properly hidden and we always kept the room locked when we were away and took the keys with us.

We called the police once we found out and it was a complete mess. The police wouldnt pay attention to us and would only speak in the local language with Mali and her family. They didnt want to make us a police report and they demanded us to pay for our stay. They also told us that they were gonna search all our luggage, so we just left the place at midnight after this really stressfull and unpleaseant situation.

Mali and her family all seemed really nice during our stay, but ever since the problem occurred she was really rude. It was all lies. 

I definitely recommend everyone to stay away from this place.
