Manimalar Lodge was an alright, clean-if-spartan hotel. It is well located and did the job for us. We needed a cheap plae to stay for the first night in Sri Lanka. 
The hosts were kind and helped us with some tips while we were there. The dad came to our room in the evening to offer us an ice cold Lion beer. Just what we needed. 
Rooms with toilet and shower. AC if wanted. Comfy beds.

Not bad budget guesthouse. 

One night earlier I called and booked one room for 1500 Rupees, but when I came he suddenly increased the price to 2500 Rupee. And finally after a long discussion he accepted my price. 

Secondly, the area is not fine. When u get out during the night then u don't feel safe. 

Thirdly, the reception is on the 5 floor. 
No Towel, No wifi

Not good enough 

Not good functional is the best I can say, bed is like a countertop, fan grinds away, clean ish, a cockroach in the toilet and a rat running around by the entrance of gate, a locked gated entrance 2200 till 0730, unsafe, tuk-tuk driver recommended we go straight in not a good area, in the morning hammering building work happening, but at 3000rupees !!!.

Rate high when compared to other hotel, no reception at entrance
Reception is at 5th floor, no wify , no room service personel, cot is steel, no wooden cot, no heater in thew room, they charged rs 1350 inr, but not worth while

NOT GOOD

Don't go any more this place terrible... Poor customer service room expensive but no facilities, and that incharge man underrated IAM didn't seeing that much terrible person.. we are very disturbing..  can't remember new cherry street Mani Malar . Really waste our money and peace
