We checked into triple occupancy room for a night halt. The place is very peaceful, and rooms are large enough. Quite a secluded location, and it's perfect for budget travelers (leisure of business). Though the property is huge,they could have done wonders with it but they are happy to keep it as a low profile guest house. We paid USD 30 for a night stay, probably we will stay there again.

No frills!! You get what you pay for!!

We stayed one night on our way from Kandy to Trincomalee, having seen Sigiriya and Dambulla during the day. We just needed somewhere convenient, no-frills, and this fit the bill. Arriving at night, it was a bit creepy as we were the only ones staying there but the rooms are in this cabin out in the woods behind the main building - somewhat like being in a horror film! We booked non-AC online but changed our minds when we arrived, so had to pay 1,000 rupees. Worth bearing in mind.

If you're going from the highlands to the north or east of the country, Habarana is a good transit point and based on cost alone Vimana is hard to beat. Otherwise it may be better to find somewhere cosier and more welcoming.
