One of the best beach experiences I’ve ever had! The view, the clean beach and the stunning sunset were incredible but what truly made our stay memorable was the warm and welcoming staff. 

A special shoutout to Sri Nimal at the front office for his kind smile, patience and helpful nature made us feel truly at home. 

The in-house chef also impressed us with delicious local cuisine, served right by the beach. It was a perfect evening of great food, cozy drinks and heartfelt hospitality. Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful hotel, all communal areas, pool, garden, bar and restaurant are all very well maintained and presented.
Our room was spacious with a fantastic ocean view and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds that we have ever slept in.
The beach is ideal for swimming 
All staff are friendly attentive and professional
A special mention should go to Manu in the restaurant and also to Nalaka in the bar, his cocktail making is second to none

This is a great place to stay. I really liked this beach and very friendly people. I recommend trips around this hotel and beach with my friend Roshan, who is a very good local businessman. He organized our trips to see the local tourist attractions, for example to the city of Galle and the Madu river. We have also seen beautiful turtles. We have been with Roshan also to the local city of Bentota. He organized for us also the possibility to see the local fishermen near Galle. He knows a nice place also for relaxing massages. I strongly recommend Roshan as a person who knows all you need to see while staying at the Shinagawa beach. I recommend to go to see the moonstone mine with him.

Paradise is calling - a beach straight out of a dream. Sometimes there are really big waves, which I really liked. But you can usually go swimming safely. The hotel has a well thought-out architecture which provides a welcome cool down in the pool area. The bar and restaurant are located to the side of the pool and everything faces the beach, including all the rooms. The room and bed were very comfortable and had plenty of space for us. As everywhere in Sri Lanka, all the staff are really friendly, courteous and polite. You really get the feeling that everyone is trying to make the guests' stay as pleasant as possible.
In any case, it was wonderful to simply listen to the sound of the sea while enjoying a good drink and then take a dip in the pool after a swim in the sea. The dinner and breakfast were really exceptionally good. All in all, a fantastic end to our Sri Lanka round trip with a 5-day stay at this hotel.

Lovely hotel . Right on sea front .Bright spacious, airy rooms with full glass wall and balcony  looking on to beach.
TV . Fridge , safe , and WiFi in room . Comfy bed and full a/c .
Breakfast and dinner buffets are ample with good choice of tasty foods .
There is a guy just next to hotel called Asela who does tours and has a tuk tuk who we used and is very reliable and very good prices .

My wife and I spent 5 nights at the Shinagawa, capping a 10-day tour around Sri Lanka.  We were somewhat spoiled by stays at a series of 5-star hotels, but nonetheless enjoyed our time at the beach.  All rooms have a beautiful, unobstructed view of the beach and ocean.  The rooms are comfortable and management told us that the lighting system, would soon be improved.  The all-sand beach is several kilometers long and ideal for walks, swims and watching fishermen land their catches. 
 
The food, while necessarily limited in variety (only 24 rooms), was good and the cocktails excellent.  The on-site massages were fantastic and the staff very friendly and attentive.  Management, both general and F&B, was very interested in our well-being and open to suggestions for improvement.

Excellent service, management, and hospitality. Tasty cuisine and good cleaning services. I recommend it to everyone looking for a soft sandy beach, a peaceful environment, and a welcoming hotel.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 It is not far from Galle, and there are food shops nearby. However, the food is delicious and sufficient.

This resort is really amazing with beautiful beach and ambient,the room was always perfectly cleaned and the kind staff always provided perfect service and was always ready to help us. I was very satisfied with the food that was delicious e varied. A big thank you also goes to the hotel manager for his friendliness and willingness to always help. Thank to whole team for making our stato so enjoyable. I will definite come back there again. I recommend it to everyone.

Loved the hotel very relaxing. Beautiful views of the ocean and rooms immaculate. 
The food was good maybe more variety a bit repetitive. 
We changed our room for a walk in shower as I don’t like showers over baths in this day and age walk in showers should be in all rooms, just a suggestion. 
The rooms kept lovely and clean and the staff kept us amused with towel creations everyday well done. 
Big shout out to Nalaka the barman that made the best raspberry mojitos and kept supplying my husband with a clean ash tray which were hard to find! He looked after us so well an asset to the hotel. 
All staff were so friendly and amazing. 
Loved the book borrowing system on the second floor. 
The cushions on the loungers could be cleaned more often or a different cushion possibly they were a big grubby that is my only negative really. 
Would recommend the hotel the sound of the waves is so therapeutic I can hear them now. I am not a beach person but the water was so warm and the beach so lovely I went in at least twice a day over and above the lovely pool.

Excellent hotel, nice pool, great location, right on the beach. Very quiet, good room, only let down by a strange bathroom arrangement, in need of a makeover, otherwise it would have received 5 stars. Great friendly staff, superb food, the highlight was Nalaka the barman who made the most amazing cocktails, particularly the passion fruit mojito, amazing 👏
