Stayed 4 nights to go biking in this area. Tabernas is not the prettiest or most interesting place in Spain, but the desert area and some of the small villages around are nice; i.e you need a reason to be there. However if you have a reason, this is a great place to stay. People are very friendly and open, not much English, but the women uses Google Translator, so you can understand what is what. WiFi worked well, TV streaming good (even with VPN switched on). Heating good and apartment warm in winter. I used the fire for which they had wood, free to use. Coffee supplied for the machine they had in the kitchen and also some cold drinks in the fridge. Their restaurant (in the Olive Oil factory) is probably the best in the area. This is must see and buy the Olive Oil. The Wild West places are worth a visit. I went to the Solar Research center which was interesting (need to apply online in advance). So if in the Tabernas area, stay here and be an Eco Warrior for a while.
