Casa Rural La Tajona

We wanted to visit Tenerife but stay away from the tourist resorts. This was the perfect choice. There are 2 houses, one is a lot larger than the other, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, we managed to stay in this one for the first few nights due to some confusion with the booking. Amazing house, for me the terrace is what makes this house and the bedroom balcony, I thought I was in heaven. Incredible view of the sea, in a good clear day you can actually see the 3 other islands (Gomera, Hierro and La Palma). Absolutely delightful. For the second part of our stay we stayed in the smaller house, which actually felt more cosy for the 2 of us, great shower room, good kitchen, lots of light, very comfy house with a lovely front terrace. The view is exactly the same and in fact we both agreed that for us 2 the smaller house was actually more cosy. Incredible location, amazing views, away from the horror of holiday resorts. We managed to do a bit of yoga to sunrise a few days, total bliss, the smell of nature, the silence, the sun coming out. This is what a relaxing holiday is about. The owners are absolutely adorable. We received a very nice welcome gift, some wine and a few essentials, fruit, milk, juice. It was so cute and lovely. We also had a bottle of sparkling wine for our xmas day. They were so friendly and helpful and apologetic for the mistake with the houses, which in fact we didn't mind as we were happy to try both and make a decision for when we return. The house is very well located for exploring the island, there are a couple of supermarkets nearby and restaurants. Tenerife is a beautiful island, stay away from resorts and enjoy a traditional house beautifully decorated like this one. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. We will definitely comeback.
