Hostal Puig Rom

This neat little Hostal is only a couple of minutes from the beach and overlooks a small Placa. We stayed from Monday to Thursday and our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The owner is a charming lady and speaks a bit of English and very good French. Her colleague who worked in the bar was equally pleasant and helpful. Our bathroom looked out onto a side street and our room overlooked the Placa Llevant. The room was not over large but was adequate. There was a built-in bedside table on one side of the bed and the little side table served the other side. The wardrobe included a chest of drawers. There were a good number of hangers. The air-condition, once we figured it out, worked quietly and efficiently.it is definitely better to close the windows in both bedroom and bathroom before switching the air-con on. The footprint of the bathroom was small but well utilised - the water pressure in the shower is impressive. So be sure to check the temperature before stepping into it. Towels were changed on the Weds of our stay. We enjoyed Hostal Puig Rom and would recommend it to travelers wanting to be at the centre of things but who prefer not to pay luxury prices. Btw the Sangria and Hot chocolate in the bar are excellent.
