The 5 Star Review is based on value for money, remember this is a 3 Star hotel. We stayed in Room 508, top floor, excellent views if you can ignore the external metal fire escape. The location with sea access for swimming, beautiful tree shaded terraces, plentyful sunloungers is exceptional. The food is tasty and freshly cooked, but this is not fine dining. Beware some guests during our stay chose to strip the Seafood Paella of its essential ingredients, prawns, mussels and squid, leaving a disappointing 'naked paella'. Same with the Serrano Ham, leaving a plata of cheese and raisins. As others have mentioned the hotel appears a little tired and needs refurbishing/upgrading, however if the hotel were to get another star or maybe two, expect to pay considerably more for your stay. Note; the aircon struggles when the temperature is high and you will need a good quality high deet mosquito spray for sunset. You will not be disappointed with this hotel, it will grow on you. Ah yes, and the star of the show, is the resident duck, a mallard, who arrived mid June and we nicknamed him 'Confit'. James & Caroline
