The Lodge - Desert Springs

We’ve just returned from a fantastic 4-day stay at Desert Springs Resort, booked through The Big Golf Company, and it exceeded all expectations. Our package included two rounds of golf and breakfast, and we couldn’t have asked for more. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the beautifully presented reception and clubhouse. The restaurant and bar, set on a sun deck, offered a relaxing spot to unwind with great service and lovely surroundings. We stayed in a modern, spacious two-bedroom apartment overlooking the swimming pool. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast each morning was a real treat – freshly cooked to order rather than a buffet, and absolutely delicious. The highlight was, of course, the golf. The course is superb – Europe’s only desert-style course – and offers a unique challenge with its cactus-lined fairways, sandy terrain, water features, and well-placed hazards. It’s tough in parts, particularly the narrower sections, but it’s beautifully maintained and the greens were immaculate. We visited in March and the weather was perfect for golf – around 21 degrees and sunny. All in all, a brilliant experience and we have booked with The Big Golf Company to come back in September.
