Royal Suites Marbella

We’ve just come back from 10 days here. I was a little apprehensive before we arrived as there aren’t many reviews and some are a bit negative but there was no need to be worried, this place is great! Firstly a few tips- it’s probably easier to have a car. There’s a Mercadona and Lidl at the bottom of the hill and further along some restaurants but it wouldn’t be loads of fun walking back up to the apartments but lots of others seemed to used taxis. Secondly - bring a kettle, tea cloth and a scrubby pad type thing for dishes. That’s all you need, everything else is there: dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, saucepans, crockery and cutlery. There’s a small one cup percolator but we bought a bigger cafetière in the supermarket for 6 euros. Bring an hdmi cable to plug your device into the tv, all the channels were in Spanish. If you’re arriving out of hours (after 8pm) email the hotel and get the contact number to get the keys. I’m so glad I did this as the number on the paperwork from the holiday company wasn’t right. The number from the hotel was answered by a lovely man (maybe a caretaker) who met us, gave us the keys and showed us to our room. All those ‘tips’ aside anyone would enjoy a stay here. We had 3 kids 15, 6 & 3 and they loved it. There are 2 pools (which were immaculate) to choose from. We used the one with the shallow end for the little ones but both were good. There’s a cafe that is open from 9-5 everyday except Tuesday - this place is a gem, the man that runs it is really friendly and the coffee is fab. Everything is really reasonably priced and the snacks are really tasty. The apartments are great. We had a two bedroom two bathroom one overlooking the pool and there was loads of space for the 5 of us. All in all we had a great break, the apartments are reasonably priced, have good facilities and are spotlessly clean. Would we go back, yes!
