H10 Cambrils Playa

Just back from a fantastic week at this hotel with my family. We had two rooms with pool views. The rooms were small but perfect for our needs as we were out at the pool or whatever for most of the days. Every part of the hotel was spotless and kept to a very high standard. The staff were very friendly throughout the hotel from the restaurant to the bar to the reception. We went half board and found the food to be of high quality with lots of variations everyday, traditional Spanish dishes, including fresh seafood, lots of choice of meats, salads, vegetables. Breakfast had lots of options too, fresh fruit, croissants, cooked options. Again all of the staff were very friendly despite being run off their feet during the busy periods. This was our first experience of half board, and we’d definitely consider doing it again. The main downside is not knowing what will be on the menu each night—so if you’re craving something specific like pizza, you'll probably t be out of luck. That said, given the low cost, I’d probably mix things up next time by dining out at a few local restaurants here and there to have the option of ordering exactly what I’m in the mood for. I found the bar prices to be very good value when compared to prices charged for drinks and snacks in Ireland. The hotel is located between Cambrils and Salou and 20 mins from Portaventura. There is a bus stop just outside the door and a shop to purchase bus tickets right next door to the hotel. The beach is just a one-minute walk away, which made for a nice change of scenery on days when we didn’t feel like lounging by the pool. The entertainment during the day for the kids and every evening was fun if you are into that kind of thing! It could be a bit cheesy at times but it's all holiday fun and it finished by 11pm. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It is a busy hotel, lots of people buzzing around during the day and at meal times but no more than I'd expect for a hotel of this size. After a while, you get used to the buzz and can zone it out. No supermarket shopping or cooking for a week, what more could a woman ask for?!
