Apartaments Gran Vall

The apartment is well placed for the railway station but is 6 miles away from La Masella where the skiing is! (If La Molina slopes are open then its a little closer but still about 4 miles) So, you need a car. No supermarket nearby so take a trip to Alp - about 5 miles down the mountain.They have a great supermarket there with wonderful local wines and charcuterie. There is a little supermarket in the main town of La Molina but it was very small and overpriced. The kitchen was fine and well equipped but did not have an oven, just an electric hob top, which does limit the options! The apartment was very roomy, clean and very nicely designed with wooden beams and lovely staircase but No views from the apartment and the master bedroom was very very dark and gloomy but lovely and quiet. The kids bedrooms however were lovely and light and there is plenty of storage in all the the rooms. Beautiful showers - a great bonus to have 2 showers and toilets. Parking place available in a private locked car park under the apartment and ski lockers. A great apartment, but not exactly in the middle of the action! there are two little local bars within walking distance, one of which offered some ok food - meat and chips but done in local style and tasty. Also, not an area where you hear English spoken at all (which we quite liked :-) but our Spanish wasn't too useful either as everything is in Catalan! All lovely and friendly though. PS: there are rare buses too and from the slopes but there are only a couple early in the morning and the return is about 4.30. Taxi return to La Masella was 45 Euros!
