A convenient hotel for those of you wanting to spend as much time in Insadong. You just cross the street and bamm!! Insadong Heaven... I booked for 8 days/7nights. First night was a shock due to the size and condition of the room. But hey when you go purely for the street food and street side shopping it will do just fine. I asked for a different room on the spot and they changed it for me on the next day. The staff is very help, very kind and very considerate. If you are looking for anything beyond a bed and bath then look elsewhere. I didnt try their 'breakfast' cheese, toast & eggs didnt scream eat me so i very gladly ate from the heavenly food stalls on the street. The room was very well heated and dont bother paying attention to the bed linens or else you wont sleep. or just bring your own pillow cases.
WiFi is a huge plus and the toilet was funky :))

Insadong Adventure

I went in Korea 5 years ago and I stayed in the Hotel Cats back then, so this time when I had 2 days in Seoul I didn't even consider going somewhere else !!

The hotel is right to the Subway station Jongno-3-ga (line 1, line 3 and line 5) so it's really easy to go there from the airport or from the KTX from Seoul Station (when you reach the subway station take exit #4 or 5). 

The hotel is located in a quiet small street and when you get off that street you a directly into an animated area.

Insa-Donc is located in a very short walking distance, same for Gwanghwamun square and the statue of King Sejong the Great (under the statue there is a free museum, a must do when you are in Seoul)

The room are nice and clean and very well equipped, the mini bar is free and you can even have a free ice cream in the lobby, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

I think I have found my spot for when I'll come back to Korea

Well located and very good price

My partner and I stayed at Cats for a week. It was very pleasant most of the time. We chose Cats primarily for its location - which it didn't disappoint. It is a 3-5 minutes walk from the exit 5 of the Jongno-3-ga station (a major station in Seoul city) . Please note that the station has multiple exits and exit 5 is the nearest. It wasn't the easiest place to find, however, all we needed to do was refer to our map which we prepared earlier. Just be prepared and you wouldn't have any issues finding the place. The room was cosy enough though a little bit dark and often smelt of smoke. The smoky smell came from the hallways. The breakfast was simple, okay and good enough to keep us going for the morning. It was nice to come back after a hot hot hot day and cool down with the free ice cream. Every flavour we tried was tantalising. It was also nice to return to the room after a sweltering day to find drinks in the fridge to quench our thirst. We really appreciated it. It's just water right? But water never tasted better after the intense walking and sweating we did. If you don't plan on staying in the room all day, I would recommend this place.

Excellent Location!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cats. Was a little difficult to find originally from the train station but that could be easily solved by having a good map. Hotel was close to plenty of great things to do and eat. Staff where friendly and the breakfast was satisfying. The rooms where warm which was brilliant as it was freezing during our visit. I will defiantly stay again when in Soul

A really lovley experiance!

Stayed for a couple of nights in Cats design hotel. It's situated in a convenient location with good communications when you visit Seoul as a tourist. This is a clean and nice hotel, but it is also a design hotel. That means that some practicalities like lightning, duvets and normal door to the bathroom is missing. The bed was rock hard and the breakfast a complete disappointment.

A design hotel with more focus on design than hotel

I discourage this hotel, difficult online booking and impossible payment. scam because when it arrives you are asked to pay in cash a price that is increased. people have the reception feel the scam. discouraged severely;

It's a prize winner!

Located less than 2 minutes' walk from Jongno-3 ga station and from restaurants, cafes, convenience stores. Insadong is less than 5 minutes' walk away. The rooms offer free internet and minibar and are all smoking. It is not mentioned anywhere, but the laundry service exists, just ask at the reception. The important thing is to speak Korean, since their English is all but fluent.

Good location, bad cleaning

The cats design hotel is a nice hotel, very neat in design, located in the center of seoul. it is in a very quiet little street, but it is very close to the jongno metro station. the location is perfect it is very central. the rooms are small, but very equipped, and new as furniture. the hotel is clean and nice. the staff is a little slow but very kind. the quality price ratio is excellent.
