Great location w/ocean views on Yeongildae beach, close to restaurants & cafes, clean & comfortable room, friendly service. Happy with our stay. :)

Amazong hotel. Clean, noce view, room was bigger than other hotels, it was amazing and super clean.

The hotel was easy to find and the location was excellent. We had a smooth check in and the staff was friendly and helpful on every encounter. Every room there appeared to be different with unique view and size so choose well.The breakfast is cheap but you can do better at the coffee shop on the ground floor or the McDonalds next door. The bed was on a round base which made it difficult to get out of but it was comfortable once you got in.The view was delightful and the beach was perfect.Hope we get the opportunity to go back.

The room is clean and the sea is very close!

It was convenient because everything was well equipped in the room. And the staff were very kind.

The beach is right in front of us. It's a great place to hang out : )

Great location on the beach

This hotel was very clean, quiet, and had gorgeous views. The employees were very professional and kind, which is nice since I'm a foreigner here. I also love that the hotel is in close proximity to a lof of things. Lastly, the room was very clean, organized, and had all the needed amenities.  I loved my stay here and highly recommend it to others!

The bed and pillows were so fluffy and comfortable. The hotel was very clean, quite new. Service was friendly and approachable. There are many extra amenities that were thoughtful, such as the 'cosmetics fridge'. It's easy to catch public transport, the location is a pretty nice local area, with good restaurants and cafes.The only weird thing was where the drain was located in the showers -- it may more easily flood the bathroom if a towel is not placed strategically... luckily there are lots of spare towels. I will stay again.

I stayed here with my young family which  consists of three children aged 2 months,  3 and 5 years old.  We were pleasantly surprised and won't hesitate to stay here again. 

We stayed in the ondol room and it was almost perfect.  The room was large and clean with a huge  bathroom. The room also had a variety of conveniences that made our stay even more  enjoyable. It had both AC and floor heating,  a hair dryer, phone, TV, two mini fridges - one for the  complimentary toothpaste, toothbrushes,  moisturizers etc, and the other for the complimentary bottles of water. It had a kettle with coffee and cups as well. The bathroom had towels, soap, shampoo etc.   Seriously, all we needed to bring were our clothes. 

The only downside to the room was that  the bathroom sink didn't drain directly into a drain, but onto the floor and then drained into the floor drain. So watch your feet.

Only some of the rooms have a beach view , so be sure to ask about this when booking, if this is important to you.  Our ondol room looked onto another building,  but this wasn't an issue for us.

The hotel is clean and convenient with secure parking.  It is located in a building that  has a cafe  on the  1st two floors, a hairdresser on the  3rd floor and  a pizzeria  on the 4th floor. The hotel also has a restaurant and a terrace rooftop floor. Furthermore,  it is opposite  a beach that is perfect for walking along the boardwalk and watching the sunrise.  The hotel is on a poplar strip and has a McDonalds, a convenience store and a variety of restaurants close by. There is even a lotte department store maybe 5 minutes away.

Truly, this hotel is so convenient and central to everything. It was such a pleasure to stay here.

Won't hesitate to stay here again!!!

The Galaxy hotel is on Yeongildae Beach (previously called Bukbu Beach) in Pohang. The rooms are good size, clean, modern and reasonably priced at about 100,000 Korean Won per night. My wife and I stayed on the 8th floor with a view over the beach. The staff are fantastic. Everyone from the manager Daniel, Cindy on reception and the cleaners made us feel welcome. Daniel and Cindy both speak English. There are lots of restaurants and bars along the street in front of the hotel. The Galaxy has its own restaurant on the 4th floor which was excellent. The Jukdo Market is a 25 minute walk. This is an traditional Korean market with everything you can think of including an open fish market - a must see. There are interesting walks along the river with all the fishing boats and around the beach. In the evening the Tilt Bar & Cafe is a lively bar for expats and locals, only a short walk from the hotel. I recommend this hotel if you are visiting Pohang.

My wife, adult son and I (from Seattle WA USA) stayed at Galaxy for 10 days in August 2015. We had a western-style double (platform) bed suite on the 8th floor, overlooking Bukbu beach. There are several types of suites available. Ours was not top of the line (judging by photos of other suites posted online), but was very nice and totally met our needs. Cost was (discounted due to wedding party) 130,000 Korean won per night, so your price may vary. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of our occasional requests for extra pillows, roll away bed, special cleaning, etc. Free bottles of water every day. One day, unrequested, the staff delivered a brand new, large refrigerator (by hotel standards), perhaps because we were staying for a while. This came in very handy for chilling beer, other beverages, and snack/breakfast foods. From Galaxy, you can walk to anything in Bukbu, which has many excellent restaurants, bars, coffee shops, parks, and of course the beach and beachfront boardwalk area. Very cool rooftop bar and restaurant tops of an excellent location and hotel. Highly recommended.
