Jeonju Golmokgil Guesthouse

Mr. Park is an awesome and kind host. He tries his best to explain the things in English and is always ready to help you. The first day he gives you a map of the Hanok village and explain to you where you can eat good things and hot to go there. 
The room is as it present in the pictures and the cafeteria, is really cozy.

We stayed in "Korean Ondol Room A" which is square-ish compared to other ondol rooms in the same guesthouse. It is spacious, and we can sleep soundly there. Amenities are standard. TV, wifi and hot water works well.

It is located on the edge of Hanok Village which is not super-crowded. You can walk 5-10 minutes to the center of Hanok Village.

Our taxi could not get inside the Hanok Village on weekends when we arrived there. We need to walk 7-8 minutes to get to the guesthouse from our drop-off point. It is understandable though.

As others have mentioned, the owner is kind despite limited English. He gave us Jeonju Hanok Village map and showed us what to visit in Jeonju. He also checked with us a few times to ensure that everything was alright with us. He kindly offered to call a taxi for us in the morning to go to Jeonju Station. Definitely top service from him.

Owner Mr Park is very friendly and helpful.  He speaks very little English and depends on English translation to help you with explanations of where to eat and locations of tourist sights.

Our room was cosy but our bathroom has a leaking sink which needs to be fixed.

The house is a little difficult to locate.  When you arrive at Hanok Village, go to the Tourist Information Center, get a map of the Village and ask for directions to Golmokgil Guesthouse.  Walk along Taejo road, about 2 junctions later, you’ll see PNB Bakery.  Turn right into Eunhaeng-ro.  Continue walking until you see  Hyanggyo-gil, turn left and walk towards Confucian school direction.  Golmokgil House is near to address 90 Hyanggyo-gil which is on the opposite side of Golmokgil.  Note that Golmokgil’s address is not listed anywhere along the road.  See a souvenir shop signboard Limetory and there is a small pavement next to it.  Look for owner’s mobile no.  010 3225 0052 which is written on a small board at the entrance to the pavement.

Owner provides a simple breakfast of bread and toast, boiled eggs, coffee, tea and the kitchen is open for use by guests 24 hours.

Hanok experience in the Hanok Village

Very pleasant stay

Value for money and cosy place

Can't fault much for the price to experience the stay in a traditional Hanok style house. The amenities were basic. Room size is just big enough for 2 pax. Mattresses were a bit too thin to our liking. Good takeaway is the constant heated timber floor. Owner provided 24hrs self serve pantry with plenty of chocolate and cup noodle. Owner had tried to be helpful with his limited English. The accommodation took us a while to locate even with Google map. But owner had done a good job in keeping the place clean.
