Absolutely lovely stay at Esperanto with Eric and Justine and their team.  From our arrival at 11.00 pm when Justine had left us a lovely meal to all that Eric does to organise trips and brilliant taxis.  We loved every minute.  The lodge is peaceful and so relaxing.  Beds are comfortable and I have never slept so well.  The food is really good with lots of good wine and cold local beer and cocktails.  The beach is beautiful and safe: with some great little bars to visit.  The local villages are great and the fishing village is a sight to behold.  Highly recommend.

A lovely relaxing week

Second stay in Esperanto Lodge - just as nice as the first one. For new years eve Justine prepared an amazing and delicious buffet. Locals joined with the lodge's guests and all celebrated together due to the welcoming atmosphere Eric and Justine provide. 

Traumhaftes Hotel, traumhafte Tage - wir kommen immer wieder. 

Fantastic ecolodge way north of the Casamance river, close to the Gambian border. Getting there is quiet an experience, last part on a sandy bush road. The lodge is close to the sea on a splendid location surrounded by tropical nature, the only noise will be from tropical birds. Breakfast and meals of excellent quality are served in a central patio. 

I got a spacious room with terrace and hammock in one of the bungalows surrounding the central patio. The view was fantastic. Several lounge areas for bird spotting or just for chilling  out.

 The nice sandy beach is a 3 minutes walk on a small path crossing a lagoon.

Fantastic ecolodge on a beautiful location

Esperanto lodge is where you go to relax . The lodge is located next to a calm lagoon next to the beach. The serenity and calm of the garden en the views can make anyone find peace. If you walk through the bach gate you almost instantly walk on the beach where you should really go for a swim. The Atlantic ocean there is perfect to swim in . Eric the owner is the most lovely man to have a chat with . He is always ready to help with any questions you have . Or help with planning things you want to do. The staff at the lodge are also very sweet and helpful. They are always ready to assist you . We had a perfect stay at Esperanto lodge .

Relax and peace

Great hospitality from Eric and the team. Best place to be based to explore Kafountine and the Karone Delta or, just rest and relax. Comfortable rooms. Peaceful and relaxing forest environment with beautiful gardens. Sun downers over the lagoon watching the bird life. Easily accessible from Kartong, The Gambia, in a vehicle arranged by Eric. Karone Islands definitely worth a visit - arranged by Eric.

Relaxing get away in nature

After 3 km of rustic trail from Kafountine, the oasis of Justine and Eric. Very large, well maintained park, with a mention for the vineyard. Attention the hotel is not directly on the beach, you have to go through a small bolong to access it. But there is a very large beach with a nice walk to the fishing village of Kafountine. The rooms are simple, rather large and perfectly equipped. The kitchen side is the top. Justine's pizzas are certainly the best I know, and this is not my favorite dish. The team is smiling and flattering.

It's a very nice stopover in northern Casamance.

Super hotel 5 minutes walk from the beach. A place ready for nature or you can recharge.4km from the runway but the taxis have excellent accommodation.

Great, we recommend this campsite in a nice corner. Right price. Three good accommodations. We hope to come back for our next stop.

Two nights spent in this wonderful place. The rooms were very comfortable, very isolated from each other. Justine's kitchen was delicious. The garden maintained by the sumptuous Eric, whose story he is happy to tell you. Finally, the beach nearby is superb. And the whole team is adorable!

A top-level experience

If you want to visit Senegal for the first time then Esperanto lodge is a must. Eric and Justine and their staff are the perfect hosts and offer the most welcoming you can expect. The location quality of rooms and food are excellent, explore the nearby town Kafountine with its Market and fishing village. The tour to the islands is a must and the town of Abene with the sacred tree. We will return.

A must if you want to visit Senegal for the first time.

Justine's kitchen is very good; the place, a real haven of peace and a corner of paradise, invites to calm and relaxation, between lagoon and beach, while listening to the sound of the waves and the singing of the many species of birds that live there.
