Our plan for this part of our Trans Siberian journey was to spend one full day & a night at Lake Baikal. I think it is important to stress that Listvyanka is basically a lovely large village / small town which offers an array of accommodation to suit all. We chose Baikal Guest house based on location, price & what it offered. When we arrived having completed a grand tour of the area - we were warmly greeted by Stan, “the very hands on owner”. Stan welcomed us into our accommodation, provided us with local information & spoke about how he & his friend had built his Guest House. We were very impressed with our room - the style being very much in vogue here in the UK. In keeping with the Siberian theme - the room was constructed & fitted with wood throughout, minimalistic, very warm - exeptionally clean & a very very comfortable bed! Stan’s accommodation was very good value for money, his larger than life persona, humour & lovely character added to our great experience at Lake Baikal. We would certainly recommend Baikal Guest House - for the pleasure of meeting Stan & for the beauty & serenity “The Lake” has to offer.

You can take a walk and explore the neighbourhood area of the guest house — Nerpinarium, Zapovednoe Pribaikalye Nature Museum and Volkonsky House Museum.
