What was good

Located near the train station and although not central, is well connected by public transport. A nice couple is running it, they're very kind and keen to help. Kitchen is very well equipped and everything is spotless! Plus the beds are really comfy. It exceeds the expectations and has great value. Would definitely recommend!

Location

Bird house Hostel is located in Irkutsk, 3.7 km from the Trud Sports Complex and 3.4 km from the Volkonsky House. The «Zvezdochka Grove» park is just 200 meters away, and the Silver Mall shopping center is 3.8 km away. The train station is within walking distance from the hostel and can also be reached by tram. The airport is 10 km away. All major transport links are located near the hostel. Guests can reach the hostel by tram No. 1 — stops «Chaika» or «Zvezdochka Grove».

At the hostel

Guests are provided with light-colored bed linen and towels. The hostel offers a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, free Wi-Fi, a hairdryer, and an iron. There are three shower cabins and two toilets available for guests. The kitchen includes a stove, microwave, kettle, refrigerator, and a full set of cookware and utensils.

The reception desk is open 24/7. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, including the rooms. For guests traveling by car, parking is available. There is a children’s playground in the courtyard. The staff speaks both Russian and English. Airport transfers can be arranged upon request.

We spent a perfect stay in Bird House Hostel, place very quiet and with good location only 10min by walk from railway station
The receptionist have been very helpful and very kind with us

I’ve stayed in many hostels over the years and around the world, but this is the first time I’ve experienced something like this—I got scammed. Clearly. For three nights, I ended up paying nearly 6,500 rubles, and let me tell you, it wasn’t worth that price. I had already paid online for the booking. Exhausted from my trip, I agreed to pay extra for an early check-in and a bed sheet.
