A place where we felt wonderful, with great people, comfortable rooms, cleanliness, a courtyard with greenery and delicious food. I highly recommend!
The guesthouse is very close to Mocanita train, and close to the center of the small town of Viseu de Sus, but in a place with a lot of peace and greenery. It is very close to many tourist attractions: the Borsa chairlift and gondola, the Cailor waterfall, the Barsana Monastery, the town of Sighetu Marmatiei

What a fantastic place to stay, with beautiful gardens and its own restaurant with amazing food (we had both dinner and breakfast and can recommend both). We received a warm welcome from the owners Agnes and Dan, who couldn't do enough for us. They speak amazing English and were so friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient for the stream train, which is only a 25 minute walk, or 5 minute drive. We stayed in our campervan, and the facilities (2 showers, 2 toilets) were modern and clean. The price was also very reasonable, I would highly recommend staying here. 

Probably the best holiday I ever had, mostly because of the hosts and location. Very nice people, I would recommend it to everyone looking for a place to stay in Viseu de Sus.

We stayed here as we wanted to visit the steam train aka "Mocanita" and the surroundings. We had a pleasant stay for 5 days. Hosts are very nice and friendly, the breakfast was really tasty. The accommodation is high quality and quiet, bathroom is very big,the yard is amazing and green. They don't serve any food except breakfast, but you have a lot of restaurants nearby or supermarkets. You also have a barbecue place which you can use. We enjoyed staying here!

Agnes and Dan are great hosts, you'll enjoy their hospitality! We spent many nice hours talking about past, present and future, about the sense of friendship and about the nonsense of many things of the modern life. You'll enjoy at Agnes' a luxuriant garden, the great rooms and most of all: Agnes is also a great cook! Try her food and you'll come again and again...

Our host, Dan, was very welcoming and a fantastic host. He shared shots of his palenca with us at the end of each day. He drew a map for us including his recommendations for sight seeing. They are working on the access road now. Hopefully it will be finished soon.

The location is good, very close to the Mocanita railway station. The room was big (one large double bed and one sofa in the living room), clean, very cosy and warm (it was 10 degrees at night in August). We were allowed to park the car inside the courtyard, right in front of our room. The host is really nice, offered useful information for tourists. He welcomed us with the traditional “horinca”, which was very strong :-) Breakfast was average, however we would choose this accomodation again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2019. First of all I want to say Viseu de Sus is an excellent location if you want to visit most known parts of Maramures: during these 3 days:
1. we made a trip on Vaserului Valley (with the forest train - mocanitza; btw I think Vaser - the name of the river who pass also through Viseu - came from the German noun Wasser, which means Water). This trip gives an image of how were exploited the forests from Transylvania, it allows to admire the beautiful landscapes and to travel with an old train with steam;
2. we made a hiking to Horses Waterfall (Cascada Cailor), followed by a road trip to Prislop Pass and Prislop Monastery;
3. we visited Valea Izei;
4. we visited the Birsana Monastery - very, very beautiful!!;
5. we visited the Merry Cemetery from Sapanta.
Viseu de Sus is placed between all these 5 destinations and you may visit also other destinations, like Breb village.
Pensiunea Agnes, has a beautiful courtyard, with grass and many trees, two terraces, a playground and a saloon where you may eat or you may stay if it is cold or rainy. We had a suite (two rooms and a bathroom): everything was very clean, we had plenty of space and all was looking beautiful.
The owner (Dan) was very friendly. He waited us to arrive at 22:30 in the first and in the last evening, he was always helpful and prompt. The breakfast was good and the quantity was enough. A special mention for the coffee: very good espresso!
You may use a shared refrigerator near the reception. The owner will give you very good travel information for the things to do around Viseu de Sus, including the ones mentioned above!
Just 2 things to improve: 1. a curtain in the living room will help, because light enters the room in the morning and because people from the last 2 apartments pass in front of the window; 2. one additional light bulb in the living room (in the already existing chandelier) will make the evening lighter :)
We enjoyed the green courtyard (which includes also a hammock) and the sound of the river, who pass very close to the backyard.
I definitely recommend Pensiunea Agnes and I would like to come again here!

Very helpful and friendly hosts that made that very pleasant. Breakfast basic. No screens in the windows. Step up to room, steps down to bathroom. No window screens. Located near a running river with great streaming sound.
