If you wish to explore real Transilvania if you want to feel it go to Pensiunea Puiu. It is located in the middle of mountains with great access to footpaths and it's close to local amenities. The place itself is lovely - squeaky wooden floor, wooden walls, really clean bathroom with magnificent view. The only problem is that you need to use google translate in order to communicate with the owner as she doesn't speak a single word in English. However difficult it may seam the lady is open to negotiations so you can get a really good deal on the room. If you need to there is a small to set with Romanian cable but hey if you want to watch tv stay at home. Benefits: great location, traditional rooms with squeaky floors, negotiable prices.
