I ve stayed here only for one night. I am sure we will come back.  We did not have a reservation, but the staff was very kind and helpfull. The room was very very nice, with modern furniture, balcony,fridge, tv and bathroom. And very clean, with white towels and slippers. Even it was very late, the staff prepared dinner for us.

To be honest, I chose this place based on the pictures found on the booking.com and I thought that this could be a good place to spend the weekend. 

We announced an hour upon arrival that we would like to have dinner and the host prepared us pork roast, french fries and pickles. 

I have to say that I was quite impressed on how clean the room was and how new the furniture and accessories were. We stayed from Friday until Sunday and during our stay, the staff was really nice with us. 

The area is a silent one and the food prepared by the host came in big portions and really tasty with prices quite acceptable. 

I really enjoyed the time spent there and for sure, if I will have the chance to visit again Cheia, I would like to stay again @ Pensiunea Alex - maybe during summer next time.

New boarding house, all new and clean , classy for the aria. Not for the family with children , not pet allowed. The owner is reserve the right to choose the clients . For eating the boarding has a restaurant, but unfortunately the Chef was not present at the time to test the quality of the food( I have been 2 days before New Year). According Romanian style,, Pensiune means   a place where You can eat your own food with the access to the galley   or grill. In discussion for the next year will br under construction un outside aria for activity like this if You don't like to eat other food. All  together the house is nice and recommended in first place as a good accommodation.

Classy & quiet place to stay in Cheia

Nice place

The location is great, the wonderful scenery, and the guesthouse is clean with neat rooms. The major issue of ALEX Pension is generated by the attitude of the owners. They did not initially want to acknowledge the reservation made on booking.com in November 2017 and implicitly the related rates. After long talks with their son, they agreed to apply rates from booking.com.
The owner of the pension has a slightly hostile (not to say aggressive) attitude towards young children. It did not allow an 8-year-old to play the ball in the playground, on the grounds that it could hit the Tuya trees.
Although at the entrance to the hostel it is mentioned that it is NOT allowed to drink other drinks than those purchased from the local, there were no real bans of this kind.
Breakfast in the guesthouse is quite consistent (ham, cheese, 2 types of salami, cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, honey, 2 types of jam and butter). Tea / Coffee.
Whoever wants to have lunch in the hostel, must notify the owners of the evening. They refuse to prepare the lunch menu if they are announced on the morning of the same day.
The Internet (WI-FI) is functional within the guesthouse (ground floor and two floors) at an acceptable transfer rate (over 20Mb / s), but not on the back terrace.

I've visited the location at the end of August for 2 nights because we wanted to go to Ciucas Mountain Peak. That meant that we should have woken up early in the morning.
We have asked the owner what time does the breakfast start the next morning because we wanted to climb the mountain , the hour communicated was 8:00 am.
The next morning the breakfast was not ready, although we were 15 minutes late. The owner had really bad attitude, she roared at us!
Nevertheless she was very disrespectful!
I do not recommend the location although the place was nice.


Bad experience with the owner

I made a reservation to this guest house using a well known site for booking.
When I arrived nobody was here and the guest house was closed. I called the owner on the phone and she said that she is not available and I should try to find another accomodation because there are enough in the area.
