Hotel Torel Avantgarde

Torel Avantgarde is a beautifully designed boutique hotel with the most stunning views of Porto’s Douro riverfront and Gaia across the river.There is a relaxed feel and welcome from the staff on arrival and around the corners from the reception lounge are the amazingly boutique bar, restaurant and lounge areas with unique furnishings. Our room was a spacious and well equipped Executive room with unique art selected by the hotel owner and had every comfort you’d need. We had an excellent dinner in the hotel’s Digby restaurant which is elegant, stylish with very high quality food. Great wines on the wine list and 5 star service made dinner a great occasion. Breakfast was a real treat every morning with hot food options , a dedicated egg chef cooking omelets and every type of eggs on request, fresh pastries, cheeses,meats and fruits, in the beautiful restaurant or out on the terrace overlooking Porto. The terrace leads onto the outside infinity pool which looked lovely but we didn’t use as it was still fairly cool ( unheated) in early May. A very enjoyable and special hotel stay .
